Talk Like an Egyptian

Sweden today is cutting its ties with the world outside the European Union. We’re attaching ourselves more and more to the community in the West. The prevailing political climate is taking clear steps away from other cultures, shown in things like the reform of colleges and universities. I see and feel the need to combat this, and speak of what we are now losing.

Regarding how globalisation has affected the world up to now, I think the need to continue creating relations to the world outside Europe and North America is greater than ever.

What can we learn from countries in the Middle East, where the population recently made use of new communications channels to politicise the people and overthrow an infected system?

Sverige skär idag av banden till världen utanför Europeiska unionen. Vi sluter oss allt mer till gemenskapen i väst. Det råder ett politiskt klimat som tar tydliga steg bort från andra kulturer, något som visas bl. a. av förra årets reform av högskolor och universitet. Jag ser och känner ett behov att motarbeta detta, och berätta om det vi nu kommer att gå miste om.
Med tanke på hur globaliseringen hittills påverkat världen tror jag att behovet att fortsätta skapa relationer till världen utanför Europa och Nordamerika är större än någonsin.
Vad kan vi lära av länderna i Mellanöstern? Där har befolkningen nyligen använt sig av dagens tillgängliga kommunikationskanaler för att politisera folket och omkullkasta ett infekterat system.
