The Work of 'Now'

My work is a clay installation in which I use unfired clay, mud as the material, the floor as the stage or canvas and my bare feet and hands as the tools. Each work is made on the site spontaneously; it is the result of ‘doing’ or ‘acting’ in which I try to focus my mind solely on the non-intentional movements. Therefore, each work is different each time and is never really finished until it is in place.

We live in a complex modern society where we are busy seeking a better future; we must be planning, thinking and calculating continuously to survive yet another day. My work is suggesting the opposite way of this modern life; it is uncalculated, unplanned and unintended beyond our conscious mind or the world of rational intellect. As such, I hope the work could appeal to people’s unconscious mind where it is the most natural, free and genuine.
